How it works - New projects in 4 steps
Our team at Mertus specializes in finding highly qualified IT freelancers for IT projects. Our seamless, digital process makes it easy and fast to find new projects. Learn more about our service in 4 steps:
1. Uppload profile data & expert profile
In order to propose suitable projects, we would like to know more about you: Provide us with your details and profile so we can get an overview of your service offering and skills.
We store your data in our confidential Mertus Freelancer database. You have the choice if your profile should be visible to the public or only internally to the Mertus team.
2. Receive suitable (!) project proposals
As soon as a suitable project vacancy arises, we will contact you personally by email or phone. Don’t worry, we don’t send out automated mass requests by mail. We attach great importance to accurate matching of project requirements & skills. We will not bother you with unnecessary requests, but only contact you if the project really suits you. Our internal IT experts bring their know-how into the process.
3. Selection process
A project proposed by us has aroused your interest? Then we start with the further selection process. For this purpose, your expert profile is regularly forwarded to our customer – after you have given your express consent. This is followed by the selection process defined by the customer, in which we accompany and advise you as far as you wish. We attach great importance to transparency and efficient processes. In any case, you will receive regular updates and final feedback from us on every process in which you were involved.
4. Contract signature & project kick-off
Once everyone agrees that a collaboration should begin, we prepare all the formalities. Contracts are signed digitally and we organize a kick-off meeting where all parties get together and officially start the cooperation. We place great emphasis on smooth project execution. Our focus is always on efficient and productive collaboration. Services are regularly invoiced 100% digitally via our Mertus Management System, where performance records can be uploaded for approval and invoices.

“From IT to IT” is our motto. By working at eye level with IT departments and IT specialists, we succeed in ideally matching projects and candidates. When we present you with a project, you can assume that it matches your skills. Whether you are available for the project and whether there is also a fit on a personal level, we clarify in the further process.
Our service is initially free of charge. If a cooperation is established, your contractual partner is Mertus. You will work in the project as our subcontractor and we will take care of the billing process. This is done on the basis of the services you actually provide. Performance records are kept, which are approved by the end customer.
We can offer projects in almost all technologies. In software development we serve both application development for web and mobile, as well as embedded software projects. In terms of programming languages, frameworks, libraries and tools we work without restrictions. In the SAP environment we cover all common modules. We round out our portfolio with UI / UX designers as well as experts for IT project management, product owners and business analysts.
Which projects we can offer depends of course on the needs of our customers.
Mertus was founded in 2021 by Merlin Thabe and Justus Daase. Merlin is a former IT freelancer with experience in software development and IT project management. Justus is a full time lawyer and tech enthusiast.
